The Polytechnic University of Tomar (IPT) will host the international Summer School "Art & Heritage in Motion: From Theory to Practice" from 29 June to 10 July, as part of the KreativEU Alliance.
Bringing together students and academic staff from partner institutions across Europe, the programme offers an interdisciplinary learning experience focused on cultural heritage, artistic practices, conservation, and creativity.
The Summer School will begin with online sessions from 29 June to 3 July, covering topics such as the Golden Age of Portuguese Heritage, architectural heritage conservation and restoration, as well as workshops on photography, editing, and digital printing.
The on-site programme, taking place in Tomar from 6 to 10 July, will provide participants with hands-on experience in traditional marbled paper production, Portuguese tile-making techniques, creative bookbinding, and chromatic integration practices in works of art.
Throughout the programme, participants will engage in collaborative activities and intercultural exchange, working in international teams and sharing perspectives on the role of art and heritage in contemporary society.
The Summer School will conclude with presentations of the projects developed by the participants, highlighting the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programme.
