Values in Play Hackathon at Breda University of Applied Sciences

21 Oct 2026 - 23 Oct 2026

Breda University of Applied Sciences is happy to invite KreativEU students to our Values in Play hackathon from 21 to 23 October!

Video games are not merely entertainment artefacts; they are powerful cultural carriers of values, identity, and collective imagination in contemporary European society. As interactive systems, they encode assumptions about history, community, justice, and belonging, often implicitly and without critical scrutiny.

The integration of AI into game-related cultural heritage work can be meaningful if it serves genuine analytical, creative, or preservation purposes and is grounded in European values.

The Values in Play hackathon will take place at Breda University of Applied Sciences from 21 to 23 October, bringing together students and mentors from across the KreativEU network for three days of collaborative exploration, experimentation, and project development. Through interdisciplinary teamwork, participants will critically examine the values embedded in games and explore how AI can support innovative approaches to cultural analysis, preservation, interpretation, and public engagement.
