KreativEU: Advancing Research Collaboration and Innovation

25 Nov 2025 - 30 Nov 2025

Two major international events were held in 2025 to promote networking and knowledge sharing among partners. The OUTech International Conference took place in June 2025, followed by the KreativEU Networking Conference New Trends in Biological Sciences 3 – Innovative Approaches and Traditions at the University of South Bohemia in October 2025. Special thanks go to Professor Ivana Kutá Smatanová, from the Faculty of Science, for her valuable contribution to the organization and preparation of the event, which further strengthened the spirit of cooperation within the alliance. The conference received very positive reviews, with satisfaction reaching 97.3%.

In addition to these activities, the University of South Bohemia is preparing a series of academic and research events as part of Work Package 3 (WP3). These activities, planned for the period 2025–2028, aim to promote interdisciplinary cooperation, highlight the cultural and environmental heritage of South Bohemia, and involve researchers and students from across Europe. Among the upcoming events is the networking conference Heritage: Research on Local and Regional Identities, organized by Dr. Vojtěch Blažek, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Education, which will take place in September 2027 and will focus on the study and preservation of regional and local identity in a broader European context.

Several thematic walking seminars are also planned, combining academic discussion with practical experience in the South Bohemian countryside. These include Social and Cultural Characteristics of Different Regions, organized by Assoc. Prof. Stanislav Kraft, Ph.D. (Faculty of Education, September 2026), Journeys in Search of Art in the South Bohemian Region, organized by Dr. Martin Voříšek, Ph.D. and Dr. Aleš Pospíšil, Ph.D. (Faculty of Education, June 2026), and Preservation of Regional Traditions and Culture of the South Bohemian Region, prepared by Dr. Aleš Nováček, Ph.D. and Dr. Petra Karvánková, Ph.D. (Faculty of Education, September 2028). In addition, in April 2027, the Faculty of Arts will host a walking seminar entitled Environmental Archaeology in Ancient and Modern Contexts, led by Assoc. Prof. Ondřej Chvojka, Ph.D.

These seminars will provide participants with a unique opportunity to explore the interrelationships between cultural history, landscape, and social development in the context of the South Bohemian region.

Another planned event is the Třeboňsko – South Bohemian Pond Landscape summer school, organized by Dr. Ján Regenda, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, which will take place in June 2027. Over seven days, twenty participants will focus on the ecological, environmental, and cultural significance of the Třeboňsko fishing landscape, a region recognized as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. The summer school will provide practical knowledge about sustainable landscape management and biodiversity conservation.

Through these diverse activities, the University of South Bohemia continues to play a key role within the KreativEU alliance. By supporting international cooperation, interdisciplinary research, and regional engagement, it actively contributes to the creation of a dynamic European academic environment. The planned conferences, seminars, and summer schools represent important steps toward strengthening the alliance's research potential and reflect the university's long-term commitment to promoting creativity, sustainability, and innovation across Europe.
